![]() ![]() My only gripe with the game was the camera, which gets annoying when you're cornered by a wall or a pillar and the action goes out of the frame and causes you to get hit or die. Also, the animations are so dynamic with how different the enemies interact with the objects in the environments when you take them down. All of that makes it so damn rewarding because you want to continue and reach the next level to see how unique and different it looks and feels, and that never got old. The music is incredible, especially with the DualSense controller matching the beats, adding another dimension to the feel of the game. It's one of the most beautiful games I've EVER played in terms of colors, art style, and creativity in the environments. ![]() It's the combination of both the polished, deep, and ENGAGING combat system with the FASCINATING visuals that just SUCKED ME IN. But in Sifu, even though it doesn't really have a story other than a setup for a basic revenge quest, something got me HOOKED from the very opening sequence, so COOL and STYLISH, and the combat felt so SATISFYING from the get-go, I was ALL IN! As I was grinding through each level, all that was running through my head was the famous catchphrase from the Pokémon anime opening song, "I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was," to make that PERFECT run in every area as I replayed each over and over and OVER. I'm not into fighting games or impossibly difficult games like Sekiro and the Soulsborne games, unless there's a very compelling narrative to help me push through, like in Returnal and Celeste, for example, which I loved. Sifu is a game that is so outside my comfort zone, so brutal and punishing, and I still absolutely LOVED IT. ![]()
